How Do Cookies Help You?

Cookies let us store information that you have already told us, so we don't have to ask you again. They also allow us to measure what parts of our site customers prefer to see, and what parts are less popular. We also use them to keep track of calculations when you register, and they always only contain information helpful to your FLASHROCK.COM web service.

How a Cookie Helps FLASHROCK.COM:

It allows us to be more efficient. We can learn what information is important to you and what isn't. We can discard Web pages you don't use, and focus our efforts on information you need.

Are Cookies Secure?

They aren't used for us to find out any information from your computer (such as your email address). Your browser is designed to stop anyone else from seeing our cookies, and to stop us seeing anyone else's cookies. FLASHROCK.COM cookies only being visible to you and to FLASHROCK.COM.

If You Want to Control Which Cookies You Accept:

You can order your browser to accept all cookies or to alert you every time a cookie is offered. Then you can decide whether to accept one or not.
If you're using Internet Explorer 4.0 and up:

1. Choose View, then
2. Internet Options.
3. Click the Advanced tab ("Privacy" tab in IE6.x),
4. Scroll down to the yellow exclamation icon under Security and choose one of the three options to regulate your use of cookies.
In Internet Explorer 3.0:
You can View, Options, Advanced and click on the button that says Warn Before Accepting "Cookies."
If you're using Netscape Communicator 4.0:
On your Task Bar, click:
1. Edit, then
2. Preferences, then
3. click on Advanced.
4. Set your options in the box labeled "Cookies".

If you're using Internet Explorer 4.0
On your task bar, click:
1. View, then
2. Internet Options.
3. Under the tab General (the default tab) click
4. Settings, then
5. View Files.
Internet Explorer 3.0
On your Task Bar, click:
1. View, then
2. Options, then
3. Advanced, then
4. View Files.
Netscape Communicator 5.0:
Netscape bundles all cookies into one file on your hard drive. You'll need to find the file, which it calls Cookie.txt on Windows machines.
--How to See the Code in a Cookie:
Just click on a cookie to open it. You'll see a short string of text and numbers. The numbers are your identification card, which can only be seen by the server that gave you the cookie.

What if I Disable My Cookies?

You can stop cookies being accepted, but this may mean that we ask you questions about what you want to see on our site, more than once.   Additionally, you will be required re-enter your FLASHROCK.COM unique username and password each time you post items in the MarketPlace.
In IE4.x/IE5.x/IE6.x you can set the browser to "Disable all cookie use". In Netscape Navigator 4.x and 5.x you can "Disable cookies".   But, since Cookies are secure, private and are limited in size too, we strongly recommend that you keep the cookies enabled.  If you are worried about what is being stored about you on your computer, just have a look at the cookies using the procedures above!
