Flashrock Live Show Format
The recording process takes two to four hours and is recorded live on two
separate but networked computer systems. One computer captures three video
cameras and is roughly edited in real time. The second machine records
multi-track audio.
The air dates are usually 1 week to a month following the production date giving
us time to Mix, Master, Edit and promote.
General procedure is as follows;
Bands shows up at the studio and sets up their gear. We mic up the instruments
and allow the band to warm up, get comfortable in the room and with our crew.
We'll also do sound checks during this time assuring the best possible audio
recording. We only do unsigned and indie bands. Many of the artist have had little to no
on camera experience therefore we do not began the show by shouting things like
LIGHTS, CAMERA or ACTION as it is our belief that this mostly just intimidates
or inhibits the artist from their best possible performance.
There will be a
"TWENTY SECONDS" call and then something like "WE'RE IN".
Hostess introduces the band within a ten to fifteen second time frame.
EXAMPLE;
Hey there people thanks for tuning into another episode of Flashrock Live. I'm
{HOSTESS NAME} and we've got another great band for you from {WHATEVER CITY}.
{ADLIB PHRASE}. This is {BAND NAME} .
Band begins to play three songs or for approximately 12 minutes. We try and
encourage the band to get through the set without stopping as they would
normally perform live at a club. Sometimes however, we may need to pick up from
the start of a song do to broken strings, drum heads or technical errors.
We'll then have the band listen back to the audio and watch the rough footage
while we set up for the interview.
Flashrock Interview Format
5 to 8 minutes of uncensored conversation. Because these are timeless shows we
can not talk about specific times or dates of future events. Avoid long or soft
spoken stories from band members. Some bands will ramble on if you let them
while others may be shy and not no what to say. We feel the best interviews are
filled with laughter as well as information. "A Party Like Atmosphere" leaving
the impression this was the best gig they had ever done.
Five Basic Points
1). OPENING....
Who you are, where you are and who your with. Complement the bands performance
and thank them for coming in.
EXAMPLE A;
Hello thanks for watching this episode of FLASHROCK LIVE I am {HOSTESS
NAME} we're in the Flashrock studios in {any word describing north hollywood} North Hollywood California with
{BAND NAME} .... you guys rocked thanks for coming in today.
EXAMPLE B;
You've just witnessed {BAND NAME} yet another kick ass performance here at
FLASHROCK.COM. My Name is {HOSTESS NAME} and welcome to the interview portion of
FLASHROCK LIVE.
2). Have the band members introduce themselves and the instruments they
play.
3). Display cds and or merchandise. Have the band provide information on
how to purchase and info on contacting the band.
4). Shout outs to fans, sponsors, record or management companies.
5). CLOSING....
EXAMPLE;
Thanks again guys for stopping by the Flashrock studios we wish you the best
of luck with the band. I'm {HOSTESS NAME} and we had a great time hanging with
{BAND NAME}. Thanks for watching we'll see you again soon.

covered in every interview. Add your own unique style and personality.
